Job Description
Position Summary:
The Salon & Wig Making Manager will be responsible for managing the salon’s daily operations, growing the business through online and international sales, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in salon management, Afro-Caribbean hair care, wig-making, and e-commerce sales. They must also have strong leadership skills, a passion for beauty, and a keen business mindset to drive growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all salon and wig-making activities, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
* Specialize in Afro-Caribbean hair care, including natural hair treatments, protective styling, braiding, weaving, and custom wig-making.
* Maintain salon hygiene and safety standards in compliance with UK regulations.
* Oversee appointment scheduling and salon workflow to optimize efficiency.
* Monitor product quality for both in-store and online customers, ensuring durability and satisfaction.
* Online & International Sales:
o Manage e-commerce sales of wigs, hair extensions, and beauty products.
o Oversee product listings, pricing, and promotions on the company website and online marketplaces.
o Develop and execute strategies for international sales and global customer engagement.
o Coordinate with shipping partners to ensure smooth delivery of products worldwide.
o Handle customer inquiries and concerns for online purchases.
* Recruit, train, and manage hairstylists, wig makers, and online sales assistants.
* Conduct performance reviews, mentorship, and skill development programs.
* Create work schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
* Foster a positive, diverse, and inclusive work environment..
* Develop strategies to attract and retain clients, particularly within the Afro-Caribbean community.
* Provide expert consultations to help clients choose the right wigs, hair treatments, and styling options.
* Promote the business through social media, influencer collaborations, and digital marketing.
* Organize events, workshops, and promotions to increase brand awareness.
* Financial & Business Management
o Oversee budgeting, pricing strategies, and stock inventory for both salon and online sales.
o Monitor revenue, set sales targets, and implement business growth strategies.
o Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate contracts for premium human hair extensions and wig-making materials.
o Track key business metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
* Compliance & Industry Standards
o Ensure all services comply with UK salon industry regulations.
o Stay updated on the latest hair and beauty trends, particularly in Afro-Caribbean hair care.
o Handle customer feedback professionally and implement service improvements.
Qualifications & Experiences:
* Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in salon management, hairstyling, wig-making, or e-commerce sales.
* Expertise in Afro-Caribbean hair care, including natural hair treatments and custom wig-making.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Experience managing online sales, social media marketing, and international orders.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and salon operations effectively.
* Proficiency in using salon management software, e-commerce platforms, and social media for business promotion.
