Health & Safety Manager
Working Pattern: 5 days a week on-site, with occasional travel
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of our Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) systems. This is an opportunity to lead, innovate, and improve existing processes, driving a strong safety culture throughout the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and refining our H&S framework, ensuring compliance, and making a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement new health and safety strategies, continuously improving existing processes.
2. Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring awareness through training sessions and communication.
3. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Lead H&S training initiatives, identifying and addressing training requirements.
5. Manage a team of auditors, overseeing their performance and responsibilities.
6. Oversee the Company Management System for Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ).
7. Create and maintain key documentation, including policies, procedures, and RAMS.
8. Identify and mitigate operational and workplace risks, ensuring a safe working environment.
9. Support Managers and Directors with risk assessments and compliance documentation.
10. Conduct regular H&S inspections, ensuring standards are maintained across the business.
11. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
12. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies regarding health & safety management.
13. Maintain accurate H&S records, including training logs, incident reports, and inspections.
14. Produce weekly/monthly reports, identifying areas for improvement and action plans.
15. Oversee compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
16. Lead contractor onboarding, ensuring they meet H&S requirements.
Candidate Requirements
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
* Previous experience in Health & Safety management within telecoms or construction (not essential, but advantageous).
* Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 compliance.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
