Location: We are currently looking to recruit a Data Lead to work within our Bioresources business area at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. This role is a flexible hybrid working arrangement with an expectation that some time will be spent working from the site where the team operates at our Knostrop WWTW in Leeds. As part of the role, you may be required to travel to different Yorkshire Water locations; ideally, a full valid UK driving licence would be desirable.
Work type: Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
What we do: We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, ensuring clean and safe drinking water and effective wastewater management. We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to manage Yorkshire’s water sustainably.
As our Data Lead, you will identify, embed, and improve generation through the utilization and analysis of data to enable the delivery of maintenance excellence.
Where you fit in: You will be the single point of contact for the department to obtain meaningful data in a consistent format which identifies performance across all Bio Resources processes.
* Provide analysis of the story, highlighting areas of concern, identifying actions to be taken and underlying root causes.
* Provide consistent interpretation of data and present it in a way that is easily understood by the business.
* Interpret data and turn it into actionable insights for process improvements.
* Oversee and conduct the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions.
* Interpret reports and condense them into meaningful improvements.
* Lead initiatives to enhance policies, procedures, and business processes within Bio Resources.
* Identify innovative ways of working to improve performance of Bio Resources processes and systems.
* Provide process and data advice and support to the Bio Resources teams as necessary.
* Develop and assure consistency and accuracy of process documentation and adherence.
* Work with other YW departments and external partners to ensure timely issue resolution and influence company processes.
* Work with stakeholders to understand data shortfalls and enhance data availability.
* Drive excellent standards in health and safety, risk management, and compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
* Demonstrate relentless drive and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW.
What key skills, knowledge, training, qualifications, and experience are required?
* Experience of analysing large volumes of data and interpreting trends.
* Experience creating/developing Power BI reports.
* Experience delivering data sets that lead to process changes or improvements.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
* Experience supporting and embedding change, influencing the right culture and behaviours.
* Experience with SAP job management.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and effective engagement at all levels.
* Understanding of Bio Resources, particularly generation of CHPs, wind turbines, and hydroelectric assets.
* Ability to interpret service reports and flag risks across the business.
* Experience understanding business plans and delivering outputs.
* Experience driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
* Previous experience in a commercially oriented and/or regulated environment.
* Previous experience in the water or wastewater sectors or within utilities, process, or manufacturing industries.
* Experience in change management.
* Previous work within a maintenance activity focused team.
* Experience planning and scheduling work activities.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
