Academics is recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in Basingstoke, offering an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Support Lead Manager to join their successful behaviour team.
Role Overview: As a Deputy Support Lead Manager, you will actively contribute to developing student behaviour and enhancing staff behaviour management through planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions. You will communicate behavioural information related to interventions for pupils, families, carers, and staff, particularly for those with emotional or antagonistic behaviours, focusing on achieving the best outcomes for individuals.
Main Responsibilities include:
1. Providing care, support, guidance, discipline, and encouragement to students.
2. Delivering tailored interventions for high-risk students.
3. Ensuring accurate electronic data recording (e.g., CPOMS, CBucks).
4. Leading post-incident reviews following significant incidents.
5. Recording all sanctions and incidents accurately, including detentions, physical/serious incidents, and exclusions, with proper documentation and communication.
6. Producing reports and feedback for the governing body.
7. Managing performance of behaviour team staff.
8. Proactively managing behaviour daily, responding to school and student needs.
9. Handling staff deployment challenges, including mentoring, small group support, 'behaviour buddy' roles, walkabout support, and sickness cover.
10. Attaining GSA Tutor Status and delivering training for new staff.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of behavioural interventions, procedures, and practices, including positive and negative reinforcement. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding protocols is essential. A calm, positive, and caring attitude towards pupils is crucial.
