Job Description
ESOL/FS EnglishTutor required to undertake formal scheduled teaching and to provide high quality, relevant learning opportunities which enable students to maximise their educational, vocational and personal development potential.
You will;
• Establish precise learning objectives, content and clear learning outcomes for all teaching undertaken.
• Support learners to access appropriate learning programmes using a range of diagnostic tools and assessments methods.
• Responsible for a work programme (s) of study including the development of Schemes or Work, Lesson Plans and Individual Learning Plans.
• Develop, deliver and assess programme units for a range of programmes.
• Develop appropriate learning styles and delivery methods which meet the needs of the learner.
• Engage in analysis data and target setting to raise standards of retention and achievement.
• Act as a personal tutor and support students in managing their own learning.
• Comply with and support ATN’s Quality Improvement and Assurance processes and Management Information Systems as they evolve.
• Fulfil validating and awarding body requirements, including Internal Verification and the establishment of effective recording and tracking mechanism.
• Promote and support the developments of ATN’s Equal Opportunities Policy and ensure compliance in all aspects of the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety requirements.
• Work with managers and employees to support the culture of the organisation and facilitate cultural and social change.
• Act as a mentor to support the health and well being of vulnerable learners, especially refugees and asylum seekers who have suffered trauma in their countries of origin.
• Be willing to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training to keep abreast with current trends in teaching and learning and to complete mandatory training in Prevent, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity
Person Specification
• Must be suitably qualified and have a recognised subject specialist teaching qualification. E.g. PGCE,CELTA,DET (Diploma in Education and Training), DTTLS, Award in Education and Training, TESOL
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• You must be reliable, flexible, adaptable, and possess the ability to motivate and
inspire learners.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Professional, accountable and responsible work ethics
• Have a proven understanding of teaching and learning delivery methods
• Successful applicants are required to provide an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
