Role Summary:
Annual salary of up to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Birmingham Based; hybrid working; currently 3 days per week in the office (subject to change based on business requirements)

Your role:
This newly created role is offering a great opportunity for someone to develop, enhance and optimise the operational capabilities of the investments department. The role will allow the successful candidate to develop and take ownership of key processes, procedures and operational responsibilities thereby ensuring the investments team can more efficiently deliver competitive customer returns.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead on department processes and procedures and identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop, enhance and optimise the operational capabilities of the department.
* Maintain the operational elements of the Risk Management Control Framework i.e. maintain policies, procedures, checklists, limits.
* Interact and liaise with all company departments i.e., Compliance, Risk & Regulatory, Finance, IT, Marketing, Distribution, HR, Procurement and Legal.
* Lead strategic relationships with suppliers.
* Assisting and supporting senior staff on strategic operational matters and Committee reports.
* Monitor and ensure team compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and evolve existing daily operational procedures and processes to support our strategic direction.
* Provide strategic operational input on decision making issues affecting the department’s operational risk framework.
* Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s Risk Management Control Framework.
* Develop and monitor reliable operational internal control systems.
* Ensure that the company complies with all operational and where applicable regulatory requirements (FCA UK regulations).
* Maintain relations with internal and external auditors and investigate operational findings and recommendations.
* Investments experience is not essential.
* Advanced Excel skills (Formula’s Look up / VBA)
* Able to maintain composure and consistently demonstrate professionalism.
* Ability to recognise problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations to increase efficiency.
* Exceptional time management and creativity with the ability to analyse workflow and set priorities to meet deadlines.
* Ability to effectively handle and maintain confidential matters and information in a trustworthy manner.
* Must be a responsive self-starter who is self-motivated with the ability to produce results, meet all established goals, objectives, and expectations.
* Proactive approach, team player with high standard of ethics.
* Must have an excellent ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other Internal departments and third-party organisations.
* Experience gained from an operations role would be useful.
