Private Ambulance Crew – Casual Bank Worker Location: Knutsford Salary: £13.71 per hour We are the Pure Group, are seeking additional supply bank workers to support our Private Ambulance Crew, You will play a vital role in providing additional support on a worker bank basis only, for example, during periods of annual leave, absence, and/or increased demand. As this is a supply bank approach, there would be no obligation for you to accept any work offered and no obligation for us to offer you work – you would accept work as and when you wanted, and we would offer work if we had any shifts available. It is essential that you are caring, flexible and compassionate, and comfortable working under pressure, and able to communicate and connect with people at all levels in a caring manner. The Role Due to the nature of what we do, ambulance crew duties can be physically demanding, with an important level of manual handling. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have had experience working within the Fire Service, Social Healthcare settings, and the NHS, although we welcome all suitable applicants. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be given, and you will be always buddied with one of our experienced Private Ambulance team members. The successful applicant must hold a valid full driving licence and be willing to undertake a programme of training with refreshers, and to travel. As this is a Supply Bank Worker role, there is no obligation for you to accept periods of work offered; equally there is no obligation on us to offer you work, as such this is a casual worker bank contract, it is NOT a Zero Hour contract. Key Responsibilities Being able to present as directed by the Operations Manager or their delegated authority Being aware of legal requirements at the point death and the Company’s procedures and processes which would be applicable and communicating any variance to the duty phone if you believe the tasks allocated are non-compliant Removing Deceased as instructed from Mortuaries, Hospices, Nursing Homes and Private Homes Ensuring the verification of the deceased’s identity before conducting the removal Ensuring the removal is conducted with the upmost of respect and dignity for the deceased and the others present, ensuring that the correct equipment is used for the task Transporting the deceased as instructed into our care as tasked Feeding back to management immediately with any observations around unusual requests, and 3rd party practices which are likely to cause the company inefficiency or damage Encoffining the Deceased and identifying as applicable Being compliant in all tasks with the Company’s processes and procedures Keep your allocated vehicle presentable at all times and ensure that daily fit to drive declaration, checks and faults are reported on phones, and routine maintenance is booked as necessary. Ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy before commencing your journey via Fleet Check App Ensure that your vehicle is properly equipped for your tasks, and any likely additional tasks that may be allocated post commencement of your duties before commencement of your journey and that you are knowledgeable about the operation of all equipment before using it. Drive within the law and be courteous to other road users to reflect the Company in a positive way Undertake any other reasonable tasks as may be directed by management Ensure that you work within your capability and that you consider your own health and safety and that of those around you before executing your tasks.
