Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operational Excellence Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team to support with the growth of the LCS business. The role is required primarily to provide expert guidance to internal colleagues and LCS Members as part of our core service offerings.
As LCS’ SME, you must be able to not only demonstrate expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, but always display a consultative skillset and mindset when you engage with both internal and external stakeholders, giving confidence in the guidance provided.
You should demonstrate a can do attitude, be motivated to develop and grow personally and enjoy a fast paced environment where change is becoming the norm.
Key Responsibilities
Core Product/Service Delivery
* Play a leading role in the delivery of LCS’ top product offering, accreditations/re-accreditations. Specifically:
* Be able to confidently and succinctly describe the LCS framework and accreditation processes, making these relatable to the customer’s organisation
* Assess member submissions against LCS standards, providing clear feedback (where necessary) to enable organisations to become accredited
* Comfortably blend the need to be efficient with the need to deliver an exceptional customer experience when processing accreditations
* Own the delivery of the APLE product suite, specifically:
* Assess APLE Level 2 candidate submissions and processing these efficiently and effectively, providing clear and structured feedback
* Manage cohorts of senior APLE Level 3 candidates, building strong relationships as they complete their qualification and use these relationships to identify where further LCS or Group services may be of value
* Ensure that candidates adhere to pre-determined timescales for completion and where they don’t, manage them becoming offboarded from the programme
Business Development
* Demonstrate commercial acumen in support of the LCS growth ambitions:
* Support the growth of the LCS business by providing subject matter expertise in business development meetings as and when required, supporting other colleagues from the LCS and wider Group.
* Actively promote the sale of LCS products and services through multiple channels, including social media and in person events, in addition to opportunities that arise when completing core process ac.
* Identify commercial opportunities for the wider Group by asking purposeful questions to identify key client challenges
Community Engagement
* Be a credible, trusted voice on behalf of the LCS:
* Actively engage with the LCS community on various platforms, contributing subject matter expertise on relevant topics, whist also reflecting/aligning with wider Group thinking & approaches.
* Support the development of community growth strategies that attract, onboard, and retain community members.
* Develop value add content and artifacts to enhance the community value-add
* Regularly meet members to understand their organisational challenges, opening up opportunities for wider Group support.
Content Creation and Curation
* Develop and manage a content calendar, producing valuable and relevant content that supports Group marketing and LCS community plans.
* Curate and share relevant industry news, insights, and updates to keep members informed and engaged.
* Collaborate with internal teams to provide educational resources, FAQs, and tutorials that empower members.
Key Skills and Experience
Experience: 10+ years of delivering operational excellence methodologies, ideally gained in multiple organisations and industries.
Passion for Improvement: A genuine passion for delivering improvement and having the ability to take others on that journey.
Coaching: Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all organisational levels.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and influence conversations effectively with other improvement professionals.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and needs.

The location:
The role is hybrid, based from our office at Cardiff University.
