Private Client Tax Associate / Assistant Manager
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 plus excellent benefits package, full-time or part-time with hybrid and flexible working options.
Our client is a well-established accountancy and tax advisory practice and has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Associate / Assistant Manager to join their growing Tax team located in Winchester, Hampshire.
We would like to hear from you if you have a minimum of 3 years UK tax experience, from either a medium sized or mid-tier firm. You should be ATT / CTA / ACA qualified. The salary is £35,000 to £55,000 plus excellent benefits package including hybrid and flexible working options, pension salary sacrifice scheme, life assurance, health cash plan, retail discount scheme, electric vehicles salary sacrifice, and cycle to work scheme. This role can be full-time or part-time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs and in-house deadlines.
* Preparing and processing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
* Calculation and advice of liabilities, together with due dates of payment to client.
* Assisting with client queries and providing ad hoc advice when requested with the support of senior members of staff.
* Billing personal portfolio clients after work completed.
* Dealing with correspondence, telephone calls and arranging and attending meetings with clients and potential clients.
* Assisting partners and senior staff members with technical queries.
* Aiding junior members of the team where appropriate.
* Dealing with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries.
* General support to the tax team as required.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years UK tax experience, from either a medium sized or mid-tier firm. ATT / CTA / ACA qualified; study support can be provided to progress to CTA if desired.
* Significant experience within a private client tax team is required.
* A self-starter with a high level of resilience and attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong aptitude for IT - able to pick up new technology quickly.
* Can do attitude, positive and commercial approach.
* Confident, tactful, and discreet manner.
* Strong team spirit but also effective working independently.
