Are you looking for a flexible, exciting and varied role and want to be part of a dynamic team then joining us at Godstone Farm could be for you We are recruiting for a gardener to help us in the upkeep of our beautiful 45 acre children’s farm. You will need to be versatile and self-motivated with the experience to turn your hand to gardening and grounds maintenance duties. The ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner while completing these duties is an absolute must. Key Tasks: Grass cutting and mowing to both small and larger lawns. Maintenance and growth of flower beds, vegetable patch and shrubberies. Watering. Hedge cutting. Grounds and machinery maintenance. Weed control. Soil preparation and planting. Leaf and litter clearance. Provide guidance to management on matters relating to the gardens. Advise management on the costs of plants and garden necessities with details, written quotations and reports. Ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors by adhering to health and safety regulations. Other ad hoc tasks required for the upkeep and maintenance of gardens. You will also be required at times to support other areas of the farm, including car parking, litter picking and emptying of bins and accumulated waste. To be successful in this role, you will have the following competencies and skills: Competencies: Ability to communicate well with people at all levels. A flexible and adaptable attitude to different situations and people. Knowledgeable about plants with great attention to detail. Enjoyment of outdoor work in all weather. Self-motivated. Have a pleasant and friendly demeanour. Be reliable and punctual and able to manage your own schedule of work. Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Existing garden knowledge and maintenance experience. An appreciation of and a desire to deliver good visitor care.
