Overton Unit is a 27 bedded ward dedicated to providing a safe and well being environment for patients that are medically fit and awaiting a discharge destination.
The unit takes a wide variety of patients with complex discharge needs. Situated in a separate self contained unit, at the rear of the Sherbourne building.
The Band 6 role is the key supporting function to the Band 7 to enable the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust. The delivery of a high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important role within the organisation.
A presentation will be required if shortlisted.
Main duties of the job
1. An existing Band 5 registered Nurse
2. compassionate, energetic individual with a genuine dedication to stroke patients.
3. Someone who works well in a team.
4. Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives/carers.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
7. Able to demonstrate a good command of the English Language both written and verbal
8. Professional UK registration e.g. NMC, HPC
9. Post registration qualification(s) in field of expertise
10. Formal training &/or experience in mentorship
11. Computer Literate

12. Member of relevant special interest group
13. Communication skills learning and/or development
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
14. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
15. Experience of staff supervision including workforce budgets and staff development planning
