Job overview
We have a part time vacancy for 10 months to cover maternity leave in a friendly and supportive CMHT with other psychological professionals. It is based at Longbridge Health and Community Centre in South Birmingham and involves working with adults with mental health difficulties in the community. This post offers easily accessible travel routes and free parking.
This is an ideal post to apply your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including consultation, supervision, service development, and leadership in addition to direct clinical work. The post-holder will support the transformation of our Community Services in BSMHFT.
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (or equivalent applied Psychological Practitioner). Applicants for a band 7 post are also encouraged to apply if they do not currently have suitable experience for an 8a banding.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, and skilled clinicians who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation, and the application of evidence-based psychological interventions, both individual and in groups. Experience working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs is essential.
We have an established track record in service innovation supporting a diverse range of clinical and academic interests, with time for research and teaching related activities built into many of our psychological professions job plans. There are clear career paths for psychologists in the service who join us, and we are committed to your development through training and supervision.
