Job overview
Radiographic Assistant - 37.5 hours per week
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join the team of radiographic assistants in the busy Radiology department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
This is a rewarding role working closely with patients and all members of the Radiology Department as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will be expected to work across CT, MRI, U/S, Intervention and Plain Film X-ray. The role involves assisting with sterile procedures, chaperoning and preparing patients for examinations working alongside consultant radiologists, radiographers and sonographers.
You will need to be well organized with good communication skills and have a good grasp of IT. A sympathetic attitude to patients is essential ensuring safe and compassionate care. You will need to be able to cope with distressing and often challenging situations while prioritising your workload.
The department is very busy performing over 250,000 examinations per annum including ultrasound, plain films, CT, MRI, biopsies and treatment procedures.

Qualifications
* Education to "O" Level/GCSE standard to include English Language
* NVQ Level 2 in healthcare or imaging and/or equivalent experience or willingness to undertake the appropriate training
Experience
