We are looking for a qualified Head of Procurement to join us and support our striving steps forward!
Mainly responsible for supporting the delivery of excellent customer and business value by leading the full life cycle of procurement, from category strategy development and sourcing through operations, including supplier risk and ESG/CSR commitments.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Develop an annual procurement plan, outlining all sourcing and supplier management activities.
* Lead and enhance all procurement processes with a focus on data accuracy, insight, and commercial excellence.
* Manage and implement improvements to derive value from suppliers, including cost reduction, quality enhancements, and service improvements.
* Lead the ongoing development of category strategies, showcasing market and supplier insights and a high degree of commercial acumen.
* Provide leadership insight and guidance for sourcing and supplier management activities, including leading critical negotiations and supplier discussions.
* Ensure effective and efficient procurement operations, continually improving forecasting and delivery accuracy.
* Lead Trafalgar's supplier risk processes, managing supplier risk assessment and audits to improve our sustainability performance.
* Participate in Sales and Operations Planning meetings, offering accurate updates, forecasting, and suggesting ongoing improvements to the process.
* Develop the procurement skills of the team through coaching and setting examples.
* Foster a culture that prioritises the customer at the centre of all procurement activities.
Skills
* Develop and implement supply chain strategies and processes that are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
* Manage and optimise procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
* Oversee inventory management processes to ensure that materials and equipment are available when needed.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure that the company receives high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.
* Identify and mitigate risks related to the supply chain function, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues.
* Monitor and analyse key performance indicators to ensure that the supply chain function is meeting its targets and objectives.
* Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals to ensure that the function operates efficiently and effectively.
* CIPS qualified.
Experience
* Extensive experience in senior procurement leadership.
* Demonstrates ability to build a high-performance culture within the team.
* Strong and convincing communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to zoom in and out of the detail of multiple projects and identify areas of focus and priority.
* Demonstrates an entrepreneurial edge who can adapt to change and use initiative.
* Strong analytical and data skills.
* Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship building and proven Cross-functional leadership skills.
* Demonstrated success in developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
* Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical practices.
* Financial acumen to analyse costs, budgets, and financial implications of procurement decisions.
* Demonstrates ability to develop and implement supply chain strategies and processes that support business goals and objectives.
