We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Somerset, seeking a passionate and dedicated Literacy Teacher to support students Special Educational Needs (SEN, primarily at key stage 2 level. If you are committed to helping children develop confidence and essential literacy skills through tailored, engaging teaching, this is an incredibly rewarding opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Plan and deliver engaging literacy lessons for small groups and individual students
* Adapt teaching materials to suit diverse learning needs and abilities
* Support students with reading, writing, and communication challenges, including dyslexia and speech & language difficulties
* Foster a love for learning and encourage confidence and independence
* Monitor student progress and collaborate with parents, carers, and SEN teams
* Implement behaviour support strategies to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or working towards
* Experience teaching Literacy or English, ideally within a SEND setting
* A passion for inclusive education and commitment to student success
* Ability to engage and inspire students with creative, individualized teaching approaches
