We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Hygiene Operative to join our team at Agrial Fresh Produce in Wigan, WN5 0LB. This night shift role will ensure that all production machinery is cleaned and sanitised to a high standard prior to production start-up whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment that assists and reflects the values of the company This role is essential for maintaining high hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standards) and customer requirements, and promoting a safe and sanitary working environment. The BRCGS Food Safety Standard requires food manufacturers to maintain strict hygiene controls, not only in production areas but also in employee facilities such as production offices, changing rooms, and canteens. The Day Hygiene Operative ensures these areas meet hygiene requirements, reducing the risk of non-compliance during audits. Working hours: Nights: 11:00pm - 07:00am, 5 on 2 off. Pay: £13.77 per hour Main Responsibilities Ensure that the cleaning process is carried out effectively according to schedules and company standards. Report all damage or defects to plant and /or equipment to the Zone leader/Manager. Rectify minor problems, within capabilities and guidelines as agreed with your line manager. Ensure that daily/weekly cleaning procedures are adhered to so that the cleaning process will contribute to plant and equipment operating efficiencies. On completion of the cleaning process, ensure that all plant and equipment is ready and prepared for production start up. Ensure that company quality and food hygiene standards and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times. Happy to work a night shift in a refrigerated environment. Skills and Experience Required Awareness of hygiene standards and regulations in the workplace Previous experience in a hygiene operative role, ideally within a food production environment Experience in a manufacturing environment Relevant qualifications in Food Safety, Chemical Training, or H&S would be desirable.
