Assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures, controls and procedures put in place by the 1st Line of Defence to address compliance with all relevant conduct regulatory obligations and with the ERM framework through specific thematic reviews. Key Actions Assist in the development of an annual, risk-based Risk and Compliance assurance plan which focuses on identifying, measuring and managing regulatory and business risks. Assist with maintenance of a comprehensive Risk Universe. Takes responsibility for delivering robust risk and compliance assurance reviews and oversight activities to provide Senior Management with an insight into the efficiency and effectiveness of arrangements to manage regulatory compliance and wider business risks, and commenting on best practice. Develop high quality, succinct, timely and accurate monitoring and oversight reports. Collaborate with the business to determine and agree pragmatic and effective remedial and preventative recommendations where vulnerabilities and risks exist, monitor corrective plans and provide guidance, advice and support to deal with and avoid similar situations in the future. Liaise with key stakeholders in the business to effectively track, manage and report on open, closed and overdue actions through to successful implementation. Assist the Combined Assurance Lead and the Head of Risk Strategy in developing monthly and quarterly management information on all monitoring and oversight activities, risks and issues, which contribute to the Assurance reports for the Board and Executive Management. Regularly liaise with 1st, other 2nd and 3rd Line functions to disseminate assurance activities and understand business needs. Support the combined assurance approach across the business. Seeks to enhance monitoring and oversight activities to increase productivity and add value to the business. You are required to understand and comply with all relevant rules, regulation and legislation applicable to your role. Ensuring that communications via any medium meet the principle of ‘clear, fair and not misleading’. Engage, use SME knowledge with, and gain sign-off from the Group Compliance Director for review activity and all compliance monitoring reports.What do you need to thrive? Qualifications Degree level education or Qualified or working towards an Internal Audit qualification or Compliance DiplomaExperience Minimum of two years’ experience in financial services Excellent knowledge of FCA regulations, or work within a second line or third line function that indicates ability to learn the regulations.Skills Excellent relationship management skills to Senior Management level (Ambassadorial Approach) Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong influencing and persuasive skills to an Executive level Competent and highly analytical So, what’s in it for you?
