SF recruitment are currently recruiting a Buyer for a leading manufacturer & distributor. The role sits within in a purchasing team & will work closely with other technical areas of the organisation, managing multiple projects & dealing with a global supplier base : - Manage projects from inception, through to Supplier selection, quotation assessment, sample approval, and product introduction. - Build, maintain and manage Supplier relationships with the ability to communicate effectively. - Ability to proactively source new products as required to improve our product portfolio - Improve prices and terms of business with Suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilising effective negotiation skills - Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market Suppliers - Provide analysis on costs, including new and existing, and review cost reductions through regular benchmarking - Prepare reports and updates to internal stakeholders as and when required - Establish new Suppliers and arrange necessary assessments, factory audits, and compliance to proceed with initial orders Person specifications: -Proven skillset as a Buyer -Demonstrable experience working with a global supplier base, able to comfortably conduct supplier meetings -Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills Office based, 8:30/5 Mon Fri.
