We’re looking for a Holidays Assistant Manager who can help to make sure that everyone has their best possible holiday with the National Trust. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1400 hours per year. You'll work full-time from April until the end of October and part time from November until the end of March. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Holidays Operations Manager who manages the outdoor holidays portfolio across Wales, you'll support them in South Wales, mostly at Gupton Farm. You’ll line manage the caretakers who work out of the Bunkhouse, organising their rota and changeover days. You’ll also line manage the Operations Assistant at Gupton Farm Campsite. In the Trust, there is always room for training and development, and it is no different in this role. As the Outdoor Holidays portfolio grows, there will be opportunities for you to grow along side. You’ll be based at Gupton Farm, just a 10-minute walk away from the stunning Freshwater West beach. At Gupton Farm we manage a busy medium-sized campsite with a small retail offer and a sleeps 10 Bunkhouse. You’ll also be required to help manage a further two campsites and Bunkhouse on occasion across South Wales, travel will be required occasionally. We're a small team of experienced and dedicated people based mostly at Gupton Farm, and a few more team members across South Wales. What you'll be doing Your focus will be on providing great service to everyone who chooses to stay at Gupton Farm. You want them all to have a very happy holiday. You’ll be answering their questions, following our usual procedures, and working with the local Trust teams as well as Contact Centre staff to make sure we’re being consistent and keeping standards high everywhere. Sometimes you’ll be working a desk, sometimes cleaning campsite toilets and everything in between. Sometimes you’ll be required to visit other sites, some of which may be remote. You’ll keep the team on track with compliance requirements. You’ll be the first point of contact for the caretakers and campsite staff. You’ll supervise and lead them through training, coaching and development. You’ll be co-ordinating rotas with bookings, organising changeovers and service cleans, and efficiently managing stock control, buying and stores for the Bunkhouse and the campsite shop. You'll help to recruit new staff, providing clear induction and training. You’ll help to respond to incidents, and do all that’s needed to keep everyone safe. You'll also tackle unplanned tasks as they arise, to help keep standards high and people happy.
