Location: West Bromwich (Head Office) - Hybrid Working
Salary: c. £70,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week

We are embarking on a major transformation in our Digital & Core Banking space, replacing our core banking platform, introducing a new Digital app and modernising our whole technology estate to meet the digital and product needs of our customers. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead workstreams of delivery of our digital transformation and core banking modernisation (Cloud; Applications, Data and Managed Service). The Senior Project Manager will work alongside the existing Portfolio and Project Managers and other areas of IT and Change to ensure that business and technology initiatives align with the Societys strategic direction:
Input to the creation of Impact Assessments and Solution Options
Work with architecture colleagues as well as business and technical stakeholders to ensure customer and business impacts of proposed changes and solutions are understood
Assist the Business Enterprise Architect in the running and management of the Business Review Board
Develop and maintain business architecture collateral within the Societys architecture repository
To be successful in this role it would preferred that you have a strong understanding and knowledge of financial services as well as both Agile and Waterfall delivery experience. You will have credibility with senior business stakeholders and be recognised for your clear and articulate communication, particularly when explaining complex or technical points to business stakeholders. You will be able to demonstrate you can work with limited direction and to tight deadlines and the Change and IT function to define and deliver against the strategic objectives for the Society.
Key responsibilities are:
Project delivery experience across financial services driving business and IT change
Experience of both Agile and Waterfall delivery
Line management, including PMs and PMO resources
Management of project resources to develop an effective team
Proven experience of managing capital budgets
Strong organisation skills, often juggling multiple priorities, and the ability to command respect from the existing team is imperative
Development and management of a detailed project schedule and work plan
Plans, assembles and manages resources required to deliver to the objectives and scope
Tracks project progress and costs in order to meet objectives, scope and budget
Proactively manages change to project scope via change control
Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path
Creates and maintains RAID logs identifying risks / issues and risk management options
Provides project updates to Stakeholders, Project Team & PMO on progress and risks
Input to the creation of Impact Assessments and Solution Options

Key Skills and Experience
Previous experience in delivery financial services projects
Proven experience in delivering projects employing both Agile and Waterfall based methodologies
Project management certification such as PRINCE2, Scrum, PMP
Breadth of knowledge across the infrastructure technology stack, including Cloud technologies
Experience with managing budgets
Delivery and results focused, with the ability to build and manage client / customer relationships
Ability to report to steering committees comprised of senior executives
Demonstrable experience in managing internal and external technology partners
Ability to analyse complex problems in a structured manor whilst under pressure
Desire to build effective working relationships and influence key business and technology stakeholders
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and approachable team-worker
Good understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations as part of project delivery
Proven ability of shaping requirements and RFP processes for vendor selection
Experience of delivering and leading business and IT projects / programmes
Strong project management skills with a desire to deliver to time; cost and quality.
Outstanding leadership and organisational skills
Experience in large scale, multinational Agile delivery and with skills to navigate ambiguity
Experience of Cloud; Applications, Data and Managed Service
