Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this exciting role will place the right candidate at the forefront of UAS development in the UK. You’ll be responsible for the avionics development and integration for new and existing platforms, including the exploitation of emerging technologies. This will involve all aspects of design, development and test associated with aircraft electronic systems; including flight control, navigation, communication, sensor, payload, aircraft management and ground control systems. Role Responsibilities Design and development of avionics systems for uncrewed air systems, including, navigation, communication, payloads, aircraft management and command & control (C2) systems. Integration of systems, including other air vehicle systems such as power plant, fuel systems and payloads. Support wider aircraft systems design, such as cabling and loom/wire harness design. Assessment of system and subsystem failures and impacts to other systems Support and enable flight test development activities, including field work Generation and maintenance of documentation, for products and internal processes Develop and maintain test facilities and tools Perform other related duties as required About You Skills: Essential Demonstrable knowledge of systems engineering, preferably in aerospace. Knowledge of applied system engineering principles Competent in practical integration tasks either using software or hardware-based rigs. Excellent communication and presentation skills Report writing and information dissemination/presentation Proficiency in spoken and written English Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality Ability to hold a Security Clearance Desirable Design or systems engineering experience in UAS and associated systems Systems engineering experience through the whole lifecycle in an aerospace or related environment.
