Neath Port Talbot and Singleton Hospital are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic nurse leaders into our newly created 8C Head of Nursing for Surgery. We are looking for a Senior Nurse Leader who can take forward our Quality and Patient experience agenda with a focus on Harm Free Care. This post will work across Neath Port Talbot, Singleton and Morriston hospital. It holds responsibility for Theatre and Anaesthetics, Orthopaedic and Spinal Clinical Nurse Specialists, Elective Surgical wards at Neath Port Talbot and Singleton hospital, Ward 4 (emergency gynaecology and ophthalmology ward), Enhanced Care Unit at Singleton Hospital, Rheumatology, Breast Care, Pain and Pre-Assessment services. Main duties of the job By inspiring a culture of high performance in the team, you will ensure the provision of sustained high-quality services and standards as well as the day-to-day management and operational responsibilities. You will need to be a strong communicator to deliver change in an engaging way and be aligned with the Health Boards vision and values, leading by example. As Head of Nursing you will be responsible for the clinical leadership and governance of a specified area and lead on the day to day operational leadership and patient flow challenges. You will also be key in the delivery of the overall Health Board Nursing strategy. You will use your skills in leading change and innovation through others whilst working as part of the Divisional Triumvirate teams focusing on quality improvements and the delivery of safe care. Desirable • Improving Quality Together (IQT Silver) Experience Essential • A demonstrable track record of achievement in a senior nursing management position within the NHS • Significant post registration experience at a very senior nursing level. • Experience of financial management, budget setting, monitoring and determining corrective action. • Proven success of managing complex organisational change whilst also developing and maintaining high quality standards of care. • Has evidence of multi-agency working on key service developments.
