Working within the Edinburgh Academy, with close links to the Edinburgh Rugby, you will lead the medical team in providing high quality physiotherapy care to Scottish Academy Players. You will be required to connect with both our Scottish Rugby Pathway & Scotland Women's medical team, to positively contribute to the Scottish Rugby medical team through clinical provision, research, and education. You will be required to demonstrate strong leadership skills to optimise the output from the medical team and excellent assessment/ management skills, through strong clinical reasoning. You will lead on the planning and delivery of first-aid cover for training and matches within your region and national squads where required. Further key clinical roles will include analysis of injury data and implementation of robustness strategies, working closely with the strength and conditioning team and rugby coaches to reduce injury risk where able. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance player development at this critical stage in their rugby journey. Experience working within rugby or other contact sports would be of benefit, as is an understanding of challenges working with adolescent athletes. This is a busy role and will require you to be flexible and fluid with the program. It can include early morning and/or evening work, weekend work and lone working. There is also travel within and out with the region, therefore it is essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. To be successful in this post, you should have 5-years' experience within musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with experience within a High-Performance environment. You will be required to pass and maintain a World Rugby Level 3 First Aid course qualification equivalent to SCRUMCAPS if you do not already hold such. This post also requires a clean Protecting Vulnerable Groups check from Disclosure Scotland.
