Bristol law firm, well-regarded for its work in Private Client law, is looking to recruit a Trusts and Estates Litigation Solicitor/Barrister with 2 or more years’ PQE/Call. The team advises on a full range of issues that can arise in relation to an estate or trust, from one-off questions to fully contested litigation involving multi-million pound estates.
Work includes:
1. Challenges to the validity of a will
2. Inheritance Act claims
3. Proprietary estoppel claims
4. Landed estates
5. Claims for the repayment of lifetime gifts
6. International issues
This is a great opportunity to work with a high calibre client base from the outset. The successful candidate will have their own busy caseload from the start, involving the complete spectrum of contentious trust and probate work for private clients and charities, with opportunities to specialise over time.
You will be working in an innovative environment where being proactive and forward-thinking on behalf of the clients is actively promoted. Your work will be undertaken alongside a team of specialist lawyers, and you will benefit from trainee and paralegal support. Collaboration with colleagues covering wider Private Wealth legal services will include working with the agricultural, mental capacity, tax, and family teams.
Applicants must demonstrate solid experience as a genuine specialist in contentious trusts and probate, with experience of running their own caseload. You will understand and appreciate the considerations and issues the team’s clients face, with a commercial and pragmatic outlook for providing appropriate and well-informed advice. You will either have the ACTAPS and/or STEP qualifications or be willing to work towards these accreditations once you have joined the firm.
