Severn Trent Connect is a rapidly growing statutory wastewater company (NAV), working closely with its clients to unlock land for development by addressing water quality challenges. We combine technical knowledge and extensive experience in the water industry with an adaptive, client-focussed approach. Presently, much of our work is situated in Southeast England, however we are looking to grow our presence across the rest of England and Wales. We have offices in Canterbury and Coventry. We’re now looking for a Wastewater Process Technician to join our team in Aldershot. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW As our Wastewater Process Technician, you’ll manage the day-to-day operations at our Aldershot sewage treatment works. This role is critical in ensuring smooth plant operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. The successful candidate will take over from the current incumbent, with a minimum six-week handover period scheduled before their retirement in September. Key Responsibilities Operational Management: Perform routine compliance testing, monitor plant performance, and report operational data. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Process Improvement: Take full ownership of plant operations and identify areas for enhancement. Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of site hygiene and respond to out-of-hours emergencies. Collaboration & Flexibility: Work outdoors in all weather conditions and support other sites occasionally. What You’ll Bring To The Role To do this role at its best you’ll have: Experience in wastewater/water treatment and ideally have a mechanical background. Strong troubleshooting abilities, understanding of compliance standards, excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills. You’ll also have to hold a full U.K driving license.
