2nd Line WAN Engineer
Solihull: On Site
Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a 2nd Line WAN Engineer, you will contribute to this by helping deliver for our customers across the region.
Your role will involve supporting and investigating SD-WAN as part of 24/7 BAU operations to enable the delivery of secure network.
We need an experienced 2nd Line Network Engineer to join a small team of highly skilled engineers based in Solihull to manage and support a new Core Network. (MCN) WAN estate.
Daily duties will include a mixture project/implementation work and general support escalations/fault finding.
We require a skilled 2nd Line engineer capable of configuring, trouble shooting and tuning network devices.
Your transferable skills and experience:
In-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning the following
WAN and ideally experience with SD-WAN
· BGP
· IPSEC
· MPLS
Experience of working in a NOC environment would be highly advantageous as would working with 3rd party telcos/ISPs.
Desirable Skills
* CLi exposure and knowledge of routing and switching;
* BGP – Successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning BGP, to include topics such as policy based routing, manipulation of attributes, load-balancing techniques, along with knowledge of IPSEC / MPLS / and be familiar with certificate based VPN authentication.
