A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Buyer within 80:20 Procurement Services Ltd.
This is an administrative role, responsible for ensuring deadlines are met and managing procurement-related activities against client requirements and contracts. This includes liaising with clients both onshore and offshore to ensure their needs are met and that the supply of goods and services is satisfactory.
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
2. Processing customer enquiries.
3. Strong sourcing skills - Ability to identify the manufacturer of the goods and source directly.
4. Strong technical skills - Ability to identify the manufacturer, source the goods directly, or offer alternatives.
5. Placing purchase orders with suppliers to fulfill customer requirements.
6. Achieving material delivery and process deadlines.
7. Ensuring compliance with company and client quality management systems.
8. Providing procurement and technical support to third parties.
9. Attending client/supplier meetings if required.
10. Managing supplier contracts.
11. Introducing cost-saving measures and alternative stock lines.
12. Managing margins with an aim to reduce costs for clients.
13. Sourcing and procurement of stock items.
14. Reviewing month-end stock results and offering feedback.
15. Assisting with tender pricing as required.
16. Ensuring compliance with all procedures and maintaining auditable actions.
17. Ensuring compliance with transportation procedures for dangerous goods.
18. Ability to work within a busy department and cope with the pressure of meeting demanding targets and deadlines.
19. Answering telephone calls.
20. Assisting with other duties in the sales office as required.

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates should have experience in Microsoft Office packages and have previously worked within a similar role, gaining a good understanding of procurement processes. Experience in Sage 200 and/or Microsoft Dynamics AX would be advantageous.
