About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Workers to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting SEMH pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and group support to SEMH pupils within the Alternative Provision Unit.
2. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support network for each pupil.
3. Assist in the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities.
4. Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils.
5. Support the emotional well-being of pupils, offering guidance and intervention when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or with challenging behaviour is essential.
2. Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
4. Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
5. A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the needs of pupils.
6. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
