Job Type/Shift Patterns: Full-time, Monday to Friday, either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, totalling 37.5 working hours per week 100% Onsite.
Pay Rate: £11.45/Hr.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated IT Installation Engineer to join our Informatics Directorate, supporting the Trust’s Contracting, Performance, and Information department. The role involves installing and configuring desktop hardware, software, and related equipment, primarily focusing on PC desktop/laptop replacements and Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 refresh programs. The candidate will work across various sites, providing frontline support and triaging technical issues. This position requires collaboration with an Implementation Coordinator and may involve occasional work at community sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Complete service requests for desktop hardware and software installations.
* Diagnose and resolve installation issues, escalating as needed.
* Perform detailed installations and configurations of desktops, laptops, and related hardware.
* Conduct site surveys to confirm requirements for new installations.
* Manage workload independently, referring to the Implementation Coordinator when necessary.
* Proactively monitor service request progress and ensure timely responses.
* Update Configuration Management Systems with changes related to Service Requests or Incidents.
* Use the Service Management Toolset (Cherwell) to record and resolve service requests accurately.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
* GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade A-C (or equivalent).
* Experience in an IT-related field.
* ITIL Foundation qualification or willingness to obtain.
* Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician or willingness to obtain.
* CompTIA Network+ or willingness to obtain.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
