This position is based in our London office with a hybrid schedule, allowing two days remote work per week.
Role Purpose:
We seek a dynamic Senior Fine Art & Specie Underwriter to join our London Market Syndicate and Company team. This role involves expanding our account in line with syndicate and company plans, ensuring underwriting profitability, and developing our product range, especially in the Umbrella and Excess markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
* Assist in expanding the Fine Art & Specie account.
* Develop new products to enhance competitiveness.
* Collaborate with the underwriting team to execute marketing plans.
Strategic Planning:
* Contribute to business plans, statistics, and documentation.
* Stay updated on underwriting, regulation, and compliance changes.
Client Engagement:
* Represent Everest at meetings with brokers, producers, and coverholders.
* Maintain and expand broker relationships, and develop new ones aligned with business objectives.
Risk Management:
* Refer risks exceeding underwriting authority.
* Liaise with Claims Manager on claims-related issues.
Operational Excellence:
* Participate in account and portfolio reviews.
* Review underwriting practices and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Underwriting Strategy:
* Formulate and execute underwriting strategies in the London marketplace with the Head of Fine Art & Specie.
* Underwrite in compliance with Lloyd’s and Everest standards.
Product Development:
* Improve rating models, underwriting manuals, and marketing materials.
* Develop growth strategies and coordinate underwriting across Everest offices.
Market Analysis:
* Participate in peer reviews.
* Review underwriting guidelines and pricing models.
Relationship Management:
* Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
* Support business travel to achieve objectives.
Required Skills & Competencies:
* Technical expertise in Fine Art & Specie underwriting or broking in the London Market.
* Strategic thinking and market insight.
* Decision-making, risk management, and compliance knowledge.
* Relationship building skills.
