Job Description
Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new nuclear power station in over two decades. This role is central to its electrical commissioning efforts. You’ll collaborate with designers, project managers, and contractors.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Liaising with designers to align commissioning needs with system designs
2. Supporting Project Managers with electrical deliverables
3. Leading documentation for commissioning tests and validation activities
4. Reviewing plant layouts for commissioning feasibility and access
5. Planning and managing commissioning test programs
6. Overseeing site commissioning and supervising contractors
7. Reporting test outcomes and recommending corrective actions
8. Ensuring compliance with nuclear and industrial safety standards
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Background in electrical engineering within power generation or heavy industry
* Experience commissioning HV, LV, or DC electrical systems
* Knowledge of systems up to 400kV and control voltages
* Proficiency with electrical drawings and system documentation
* Leadership experience in on-site commissioning teams
* Understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Strong problem-solving and reporting skills
* Willingness to work on a high-security, regulated site
Desired Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in the nuclear sector
* SC or DV clearance (or eligibility)
* Experience with large infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of control systems like SCADA or DCS
