The Role
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a first class Infratech Services Delivery function.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and technologies, expand individual knowledge in new technical spheres, and bring essential structure to a growing team.
About you
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled engineer with a strong technical foundation, capable of delivering projects effectively while supporting junior staff and senior management in the safe, efficient, and impactful execution of our work.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Provide delivery leadership to the team in conjunction with the Operations and Engineering Manager
* Help refine and support the structure of our Delivery function through the streamlining and clarity of processes, reporting and controls. Serve as the central point of coordination for all delivery processes and improvements
* Conduct sales support activities to close new opportunities with existing and new customers
* Lead a Delivery team to develop key parts of nuron’s, and our client’s, technology and deliver well documented, controlled and process driven projects that meet the business requirements.
* Lead the delivery of novel design solutions for our Engineering Services clients who want to enhance the value of their existing utility assets.
* Provide leadership and coaching within our growing operations department to develop junior staff and foster a culture of continuous professional development, project discipline and growth; and world class safety, customer service and technical excellence.
* Commercially astute approach to ensuring contracts in place with customers and suppliers
* Programme manage multi-disciplinary development programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
* Support the continuous improvement of our technology to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
* Source and manage relationships with suitable suppliers for materials, components and sub and final assembly along with tooling, jigs and fixtures.
* Source and manage manufacturing suppliers and implement the necessary quality assurance processes.
* Continuously improve the Delivery function by supporting the Operations Manager with the development of relevant standards and processes.
Requirements
Essential
* Strong technical background solving problems with a multidisciplinary approach.
* Evidence of setting up/running an engineering services delivery function and implementing the necessary processes, reporting and governance.
* Actively seeks out new learning opportunities to develop their knowledge base.
* Self-reliance and the ability to work as part of a small team while setting an example of leadership.
* Ability to drive, and hold others to account in, a culture of continuous improvement while balancing creativity with the much-needed process, structure and control.
* Problem-solving in complex systems.
* Pragmatic “self-starter” comfortable dealing with uncertainty.
* Competence with using hand tools and general machining tools.
* Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written).
* Strong eye for detail.
* Good Microsoft Office suite skills.
Desirable
* Strong plans to become professional registered with a professional engineering institution.
* Optical fibre or telecoms experience
* Valid driver’s license
