The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Technical Support Officer (Equine/Livestock) to join our friendly team at Aberdeen.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will be to attend to the care of our equines, ensuring high welfare standards are maintained at all times. There will be additional duties of welfare checks for our small herd of ruminants who also reside at Sunnybrae Farm Stables. The facility is used to support the delivery of practical teaching sessions for students undertaking courses at SRUC Craibstone.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
* Provision of food and water for horses and livestock
* Health checks for all equines and livestock, grooming and application of rugs
* Cleaning stables and field maintenance
* Leading horses to and from fields and stable
This is a permanent, zero hour contract.
Minimum Qualifications:
There is no formal qualification required for this role, although British Horse Society qualifications or National Certificate in Equine Studies or Agriculture or Animal Care would be desirable (SCQF Level 5). Additional training will be provided for care of livestock/equines if required.
Eligibility for Sponsorship:
This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
