This tutor role is ideal if you are a newly qualified teacher, teaching assistant, or have experience working with children with additional needs and are looking for flexible work.
In this role, you will work with children who may have additional needs or be looked after. You'll be expected to provide face-to-face educational sessions with children in their homes or a local setting, such as a library. It's essential that you can plan and adapt resources to suit the child's individual needs (often focusing on core subjects like Maths, English, and Science) while keeping them engaged and motivated.
The location for this role will vary depending on the needs of the pupil but will be agreed upon before starting the tuition. All pupils for this role, however, will be based in the Blackburn (BB2) area, which offers convenient transport links by road, bus, and train.
Responsibilities:
* Experience working with children or young people.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging core and cross-curricular sessions.
* Skills to help pupils catch up on their education.
* Ability to implement and manage different behaviour strategies.
* Monitoring pupils' progress to ensure they meet their learning goals and providing feedback (this can be done through assessments).
* Desirable: SEN experience.
To be successful in your application, you will need to provide evidence of these skills and experiences.
Requirements:
* All applicants will be subject to background checks and must have a current DBS certificate (registered with the update service).
* Teaching Personnel can support your DBS application if required.
Flexible hours between 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday.
