Responsibilities
As Lead Registered Building Inspector you will supervise the day-to-day work of a team of building inspectors and will lead on all technical building regulation matters.
You will be our expert on the Building Regulations, dangerous structures, enforcement and demolition. By developing our service to take advantage of the widespread changes to building control nationally you will be part of a diverse team working together inclusively to further strengthen our relationships with the local construction sector and developers.
To deliver this, you will be:
* Undertaking assessments and supervision of dangerous structures.
* Making judgements as to the adequacy of building work and compliance with regulations, and
* Determining which enforcement powers are the most appropriate to address non-compliance.
You will be giving advice and taking the lead on delivering Building Regulations including the implementation of the regulations, enforcement powers and quality assurance systems.
An understanding of budgetary systems, finance, and business will be an important part of your success, as will your confidence in working with individuals and groups at all levels, explaining complex matters and presenting evidence in court.
