Academic Language Support Service
Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes Tutors are required for Loughborough University online or campus-based Pre-sessional Programmes.

What we’re looking for:
1. You should be a graduate with a CELTA or equivalent, ideally hold a DELTA or equivalent and/or relevant MA/MSc.
2. Have significant experience teaching English language to adult learners and have an understanding of EAP.
3. You must have excellent IT skills and be proficient and confident in using and teaching with Microsoft Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint), a virtual learning environment (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard) and video conferencing software – we use Microsoft Teams.
4. You must be fluent in English, both written and oral, and must be able to provide effective written and oral feedback to students.
5. Experience of teaching EAP year round or on a UK HEI Pre-sessional Programme would be an advantage.

For online delivery:
All tutors will be required to have the following for the full duration of the course in order to be considered for a contract:
1. A quiet room to work from.
2. Laptop/Desktop of an appropriate specification:
3. Adequate drive space and memory (to run MS Teams, download MS Office / other relevant packages and to download/upload video recordings).
4. Working speakers, webcam and a headset with a microphone for use during seminars, tutorials and meetings.
5. A smartphone capable of using the Duomobile app which is required for authentication for some university software.
6. A licensed and up to date version of Windows or Mac OS.
7. A valid and updated version of MS Office.
8. An up-to-date anti-virus/security software installed.
9. The latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox.
10. A stable broadband connection (minimum internet speeds - 10Mbps).
Salary and Programme Course Dates
Note, this includes tutor induction which runs over the first week. Initial contact with students Thursday/Friday. Tutors must be available for the full duration of the programme.
