Contract Type : Full time Information about the role An exciting opportunity has become available to become a Business Support Administrator based within Exeter Police Station for a regional unit. We are looking for a candidate who can provide an efficient and professional business support function to the department and its visitors. Acting as the first point of security, this role is intrinsic to the department. This is a full-time post working 37hrs per week and will have a primary fixed location base of Exeter; however, some prearranged travel may be required to support meetings and other sites on an ad hoc basis. The working pattern can be flexible and negotiated with the successful person. To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a five-year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last five years. You must be a British citizen to work for the department. If you hold dual nationality, one component of which is British, you may also be considered. However, if successful, you may be asked to relinquish your non‐British nationality as a condition of your appointment with the department. One of your parents should also be British or have substantial ties to the UK. Responsibilities Key responsibilities of the post holder. Maintaining physical access and control systems for all local secure environments. Providing support to the security team in the management of staff access to the estate. Maintaining manual and computerised records. Management of the fleet vehicles, including fleet vehicle bookings, maintaining accurate records of servicing and mileage and to assist in arranging the delivery and collection of vehicles. Providing a departmental health and safety liaison function, rectifying, carrying out and documenting basic audits, fire evacuation procedures, mitigating risk and reporting actions as appropriate. Providing virtual support to the wider Business Support function. Managing and escorting visitors and contractors as the first point of contact, checking vetting clearances and access as appropriate. Liaison with Buildings and Estate department for organisation and co-ordination of contracted works / building repairs. IT advice and support to our unit officers, resolving their technical user problems, undertaking minor repairs/moves to hardware, and resolving software problems where appropriate. Assist with audits. Attending meetings to take minutes, arrange meetings as required and organise secure video conferencing facilities. Being the site single point of contact for new starters. Responsibility for site supplies, including the ordering of stationery and stores items.
