Main duties of the job
You will be expected to work on AMU and show a commitment to developing yourself and others within the team. You will be required to attend and complete mandatory training online and face to face. In addition to this, the department offers a comprehensive induction programme and role-specific training.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
1. Prompt assessment of adult patients.
2. Planning and delivery of nursing care that reflects current patient care needs.
3. Evaluation of care in collaboration with patient/carers and multidisciplinary team.
4. Involved in the care of critically unwell patients.
5. Accurate documentation of nursing care delivered.
6. Be a safe practitioner aware of own limitations and reporting any areas of concern to a more senior nurse.
7. Work effectively as part of a team.
8. Awareness of and co-operating in maintaining high standards of care in a busy environment.
9. Participate in teaching/training of more junior staff.
