What to Expect at the Assessment Centre
The session will last approximately 3–4 hours and will include:
* A Group Activity
* A 1-on-1 Interview
* A Presentation based on a pre-set brief
As a Trainee Assistant Merchandiser, you'll play a key role in supporting our Assistant Merchandisers to optimize product availability, sales, and profitability. You'll work within our Product & Stock Placement teams, ensuring efficient stock flow through the supply chain—from product signoff to the end of the product life cycle.
By managing stock systems, processes, and communication effectively, you'll help us deliver the best customer experience. Sounds challenging? Don’t worry—we’ll provide all the training and development you need to thrive at Matalan!
Minimum Requirements
To find the best people for our Merchandising teams, you should have the following:
* Educated to graduate level; no matter what your degree, we would like to hear from you!
* High, consistent attention to detail, always aiming to deliver good quality work to key deadlines
* Experience within a retail environment would be beneficial.
* Ability to effectively communicate at all levels across the business
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal partners
* Excellent presentation and organisational skills
