Langdon House is an exceptional residential care home in Cambridge. At Langdon House we pride ourselves on our family-feel, attractive gardens, and providing outstanding care to each of our residents.
We’re based in a quiet nook in Chesterton on the north-eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. Our home offers fantastic 24-hour care to up to 51 residents.
About the role:
The Cook will be responsible for assisting the Head, Sous, and Assistant Chefs to ensure the catering services and residential dining experience is of the highest standard and quality for our residents.
Salary:
£12.66 per hour.
Shift Pattern:
28.5 hours per week, worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.
Home Location:
20 Union Lane, Chesterton, Cambridge, CB4 1QB – 3 miles from the city centre.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* To assist the Head, Sous, and Assistant Chefs to ensure all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
* To guide and lead the Kitchen Assistants when required to ensure their delivery of service is of the highest standard.
* To assist the kitchen team to ensure any requirements from internal and external audits are actioned within the timescales required.
* Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and hygiene standards are achieved and maintained.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience within a similar position working within a kitchen environment is required.
* Exposure to a care environment is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
