A larger-than-average primary school in Wavertree is seeking to appoint a Trainee Teaching Assistant for one of their KS2 classrooms to assist with a high influx of new pupils within the School.
Role Responsibilities
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant in KS2, you will support teachers in preparing for lessons and contribute to creating a safe and engaging learning environment for all pupils during a crucial stage of their primary education. During lessons, you will work alongside the class teacher to assist pupils with activities, help manage behaviour and promote independence and learning. Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm are essential in ensuring all pupils progress, achieve their potential, and overcome any challenges. You will support all areas of the curriculum, including English, maths, and science, within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
* Support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
* Encourage pupils to develop independence where appropriate.
* Prepare the classroom for lessons and clear away afterwards.
* Assist the teacher in managing pupil behaviour, reporting any concerns.
* Support pupils in understanding lesson instructions.
* Assist with subjects such as English, maths, and science as directed by the teacher.
* Supervise pupils during lunchtimes.
* Adhere to policies and procedures relating to child protection, equality and diversity, health and safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
Role Details
* Hours: 8:30 – 15:30, Monday – Friday
* Includes: 30-minute welfare duty
* Eligibility: Open to individuals currently studying a TA/CACHE/Childcare qualification
* Pay Range: £12.90 – £13.50 per hour
