GRAPHIC DESIGNER (OXFORD)
Odqa Renewable Energy Technologies is a fast-growing venture capital-backed renewable energy engineering spin out from the University of Oxford's Thermofluids Institute and Said Business School. The company was founded in late 2017 to commercialise Oxford’s jet engine cooling knowledgebase in the renewable energy field.
Odqa are a team of world-class engineers and researchers, working on some of the most innovative developments in the renewable energy industry.
The Role:
Odqa is now at a very exciting stage and looking to take the next step in its evolution. We are looking for a talented and versatile creative Graphic Designer with a strong passion for renewable energy technology. This individual will work closely with the CEO to produce compelling visual assets that convey our products, concepts, and vision. The role will involve designing and creating engaging 2D images, animations, 3D models, product visuals, and multimedia content for both internal and external communications. These assets will be used across a variety of platforms including presentations, marketing brochures, online content, and digital media.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the CEO and cross-functional teams to conceptualise, design, and produce visual content that supports the company’s marketing, branding, and customer engagement strategies.
2. Create 2D and 3D designs, product mock-ups, and conceptual visualisations for renewable energy technologies.
3. Develop engaging animations, visual assets, and interactive content to enhance customer presentations, online media, and product demonstrations.
4. Design company marketing materials including presentation decks, brochures, infographics, tables, and visual storytelling for diverse audience engagement.
5. Produce graphics for the company website, social media, and other online channels that communicate the value and impact of our products and solutions.
6. Work closely with the marketing team to ensure the consistency of brand identity and messaging across all digital platforms.
7. Assist in video production and editing, creating promotional videos, product demos, and company updates.
Key Skills & Experience:
Design Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) or other relevant design/3D modelling software.
3D Design and Animation: Strong ability to conceptualise and create 3D models, animations, and renderings, particularly for showcasing products and technical solutions in the renewable energy sector.
Creative Conceptualisation: Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop fresh and visually impactful concepts for product displays, marketing assets, and customer engagement tools.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for design aesthetics, ensuring all content is visually appealing, accurate, and aligns with the brand’s identity.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly express creative ideas and collaborate effectively with the CEO and team members.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle rapid changes in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Desirable Experience:
1. Experience in the renewable energy or sustainability sectors.
2. Understanding of user experience (UX) and customer-centred design principles.
3. Familiarity with web design and development.
4. Knowledge of VR/AR design or interactive media.
5. Experience in video editing software with a good understanding of animation and video production for promotional content.
