Specialities within surgery at Royal Oldham Hospital include: Trauma and Orthopaedics, Vascular, Colorectal,Surgical Triage on our Surgical Assessment Unit and Elective surgery.
Our department at Royal Oldham Hospital is modern, automated and benefits from aseptic and medicines information services on site.The hospital offers a wide range of specialities including Medical and Surgical, Paediatrics,Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Level 3 Neonatal Unit, Haematology, Critical Care and Clinical trials.
This position is ideal for a pharmacist looking to consolidate and develop clinical skills in a dynamic working environment, where knowledge obtained from a post- graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent will be essential.
You will be a member of our team of senior pharmacists, working in a supportive environment that encourages growth and career enhancement, both clinically and managerially.
As the Senior Clinical Pharmacist for Surgery you will be responsible for the management and provision of clinical pharmacy services to the Surgical Division at Royal Oldham Hospital and support implementation and compliance with medicines management policies within the specialities.
Working directly with a team of prescribers, junior pharmacists, technicians and medicine management assistants, this will be your chance to utilise and develop your existing clinical knowledge, whilst also expanding your leadership and management experience.
The post holders will be a key member of the Divisional multidisciplinary team reviewing and prioritising patients and using a non-medical prescribing qualification. You will be actively supported to gain a non-medical prescribing qualification if you do not currently have one.
Working in a fast paced medical environment allows you the opportunity to be involved with a diverse range of patients, and work closely with a variety of other professionals, including specialist nurses and consultants, to treat patients in a way that delivers the best care for them.
