About the Role - The purpose of the position is to lead and guide the shape and direction of Council's Property and Facilities portfolio and ensure that the delivery of these functions is effective, efficient and responsive to customer needs. This includes Property Reserves, Aquatic Services, TSB Hub, Horticulture Services, Corporate Property, Housing for the Elderly, Halls, Events, Campgrounds, Cemeteries, Public Spaces and Public Toilets.
Do you have what it takes? - This is a busy role and if you want plenty of variety, this role has it from undertaking the strategic oversight of the Council's property and facilities portfolio, leading & managing the property & facilities team to ensure the provision of high-quality professional service delivery and developing and implementing strategies, systems, policies, plans, procedures and programs to ensure legal compliance and best practice in the areas of recreation and facilities management. It will also write, review, negotiate, monitor and deliver on maintenance contracts for community facilities and incorporate changes to levels of service as necessary, ensure the effective management of Freedom Camping across the district and prepare reports, submissions, project briefs, quotations and tenders related to property & facilities activities.
About You - You are a talented team player with a university degree in a business-related field and 5 years' management experience. You are looking for career transforming opportunities, have a "can-do" attitude, proven leadership skills and demonstrated experience in the development of projects, policies and procedures. In addition, you will have the ability to provide high level advice and support to Council to support decision making, a genuine commitment to Te Ao Māori and excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills long with the ability to connect with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders.
You will also have demonstrated experience in managing and delivering projects, the ability to connect and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, building new relationships and your communication skills will be of a high caliber enabling you to engage with a range of key audiences.
Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, therefore must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. In terms of residence class visa applications, priority will be given where the applicant is in New Zealand.

The salary range for this position is between $121,050pa and $134,500pa and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
