ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join there Thames Valley regional office. The organisation is in a very interesting position currently with regions being restructured and becoming more efficient and ultimately more productive, creating a better working for everyone.
Key responsibilities:
1. Cost Planning
2. Preparing various tender packages and the subsequent analysis and selection/tender recommendation process
3. Procurement
4. Preparing and compiling contract documents
5. Contract administration
6. Negotiation
7. Management and co-ordination of contractors
8. Controlling variations on a project and reporting variances in costs
9. Preparation and issuing of interim valuations
10. Processing invoices
11. Assist with final accounts
12. Liaising with Contractors and Consultants
13. Working with Project Managers to ensure all actions are met for the various projects
14. Working with Interior designers re their budgets and ensuring these are met
15. Presenting budgets / Cost Plans to the team
16. Produce cash flows and keep them up to date
17. Assist the CM with monthly reporting
18. Assist in the settlement of construction disputes
19. Valuing instructions
20. Visiting the sites regularly
REQUIREMENTS
21. Experience of working with construction contracts and the requirements of a working site
22. A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
23. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues throughout the organisation and externally
24. Willingness to be flexible: the ideal candidate must be happy to work additional hours as and when required depending on the project stage and associated deadlines
