We are looking for Senior Project Engineer in the UK&I Operations Project Team based in the UK.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you are a member of the UK&I Operations Project Team and responsible for the financial and technical delivery of all assigned projects and achieving project goals in support of the business area.
You will provide leadership for the development, execution, and control of assigned proposals and projects with the goal of achieving project completion on time, within budgets, to the satisfaction of the customer, and at acceptable levels of quality without compromising safety or reliability. Project scopes of supply may vary widely, but will generally include equipment supply, engineering design, construction, and start-up services.
Typical project activities include:
1. Technical liaison to the business area.
2. Customer’s single point of contact for communication and resolution of project issues.
3. Review and interpretation of customer RFQs.
4. Accountable for the definition of scope of supply and preparation of customer proposals.
5. Resource planning and defining a project team.
6. System design and specification.
7. Equipment procurement and fabrication.
8. Drawing packages and value engineering.
9. Scope of supply documentation.
10. Contractor procurement and management.
11. System commissioning and start-up.
12. Project status and close-out reports.
The role will be a mix of office and site work with required travel and time away as dictated by the workload. The successful candidate will be involved in projects, proposals, maintenance activities, and provision of technical support to customers.
Additional activities will include:
1. Effective and efficient management of projects allocated in support of the Industrial Gases business within the UK&I.
2. Playing a dual role as project development and project execution manager.
3. Executing projects in UK&I as required and agreed.
4. Leading a project team in defining and completing an agreed upon scope of supply, including performing and/or coordinating resources to complete the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, start-up, and commissioning tasks.
5. Assuming ownership of the project safety, budget, schedule, and technical quality to achieve the project and business objectives established at the start of the project.
6. Working closely with the business area and line management to develop the opportunity into a well-defined estimate that meets the requirements of the scope of supply.
7. Providing technical point of contact to the business area for assigned projects.
8. Ensuring that proposals and projects comply with company standards and procedures.
9. Reporting to management and stakeholders on project status.
What you will bring:
We are looking for candidates who have the ability to lead construction safety management, including site team management, safety audits, and implementation of Air Products safety requirements with EHS support, as well as the ability to adjust to the unexpected and adapt prior knowledge to unique situations.
You will have a proactive approach to change and a structured approach to change management, both customer-driven and project variations, and the ability to work within a team framework with other internal disciplines (e.g., accounting, purchasing, law department, commercial groups) and with external contacts (e.g., customers, contractors, legal entities, equipment vendors).

16. Valid driver’s license.
