About the Role
The Hall Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the effective day-to-day management of one of the University’s Halls of Residence, delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a positive living experience for students. This role is focused on supporting student needs while adhering to the framework of company policies and procedures.
As Hall Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall management of a Hall of Residence, including leading a dedicated team of staff. Key duties include recruiting new team members, hosting meetings, and managing performance to ensure the highest standards of service are maintained.
This role offers the opportunity to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students, addressing their needs and ensuring their residential experience is safe, inclusive, and engaging.
There is a on-call rota which you will be required to be part of after the first 6 months of employment. You would be on call for 1 week in 8 as an average for 7 consecutive days. You will also need to take it in turns to cover the rota over holiday periods along with the other managers.
You will be required to work 3 days a week 10am-6pm and 2 days a week 8.30am-4.30pm on a rota to work with the rest of the managers and the caretaker on your site.
About You
We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of student accommodation and the student experience. You will have proven customer service and team management skills, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support and a positive environment for students.
Key skills include the ability to organise effectively and prioritise work in a fast-paced setting, alongside excellent communication abilities to collaborate with a larger team while also working independently.
Experience in incident investigation and reporting is essential, as is the ability to handle difficult situations through mediation and conflict management, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and fairly.
This role is ideal for someone with a proactive approach and a passion for creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive student living experience.
