Clinical Research Fellow in Gastroenterology/Colorectal

Clinical Research Fellow in Gastroenterology/Colorectal to contribute to current research programme - NIHR study on biomarker research in lower GI/ colorectal pathways.
Candidate will be expected to enrol for a higher degree (MD or PhD) at Warwick University.
Main duties of the job
There will be fixed clinical commitments which the post holder will contribute to - outpatient clinics and or endoscopy (depending on level of training). There will be no on call commitments.
Duties will include:
1. Undertaking outpatient clinics
2. Organisation of investigations
3. Review of results as well as arranging necessary follow up
4. Presentation at the relevant MDT as appropriate
5. Review of clinical results, interpretation and where necessary discussion with appropriate specialties
Main clinical work will be based at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust where you will be expected to undertake a period of research activity within Gastroenterology leading to successful completion and submission of a higher degree - MD or PhD thesis. The project will expand on current project on colon cancer biomarker research within Gastroenterology/Colorectal surgery. Registration of the higher degree will be at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick. The post holder will also support other members of the research team.
