We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated registered Healthcare professionals such as Nurses and Paramedics to join our forward-thinking Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional team within Thames Valley.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting alternative career option open to Allied Healthcare Professionals and HCPC registered Paramedics with 3+ years' post qualification experience.
Custody is both a dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same. The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours, and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes.
Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations.
Experience within forensics is NOT NECESSARY.
As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of two day shifts, two night shifts, then 4 days off.
We have Full-Time, Part-Time, and Bank positions available.

Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Forensic sampling (including road traffic act bloods).
* Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
* Delivering substance misuse therapies.
* Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
* Promoting good personal healthcare.
* Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Person Specification
Experience
* Qualified Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Paramedic.
* A minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience.
* Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse or other relevant discipline.
