Logistics & Production Planning Manager, Salary up to£45k depending on experience + excellent benefits package & career opportunities, Location; working out of 2 sites: Speke (Liverpool) and Wigan (must be able to commute to both sites).
We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Production Planning Manager to join a leading company. Candidates will need to have proven experience in a Production Planning Manager / Materials Planning Manager / Logistics Planning Manager role from within a process driven assembly / production / manufacturing / workshop environment.
Logistics & Production Planning Manager - The role:
Take charge of the logistics operation, ensuring the timely and seamless movement of units, materials, and products to their correct locations. Optimise processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
SHEQ leadership and culture
Review production requirements, assess unit availability, delivery locations, and available resources. Create comprehensive monthly and weekly site plans to optimise resource utilisation and ensure availability.
Implement effective stock control management practices to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time supply to our internal production facility. Employ innovative strategies to minimise costs and maximise operational efficiency. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to align stock requirements.
Provide strong leadership to the logistics, inventory, materials, stock handling, and value-added processes teams. Develop a high-performing and motivated workforce, fostering teamwork, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement. Mentor and coach team members, promoting their professional growth and career development.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the site planning and logistics function. Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to achieve operational excellence.
Candidate requirements:
Experience in a similar role e.g. Planning Manager, Planning Logistics Manager, Materials Manager, Workshop Manager or similar
P+L understanding for material and labour cost control.
Demonstrable experience in building, leading and developing a team.
Ability to plan and coordinate logistics operations while prioritising safety and efficiency is crucial.
Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making will contribute to optimising processes
